韓国はソウルを拠点に活動するアーティスト、YoonkeeKimことユンキーのニューアルバムが発売！
本作は、前作のようなギターを主体としたロック・サウンドとは打って変わって、リズムマシンやアナログシンセサイザーを中心に、ラジオやカシオトーン、DAWのVSTシンセ、さらにはデジタルカメラの起動音に至るまで、全て“ElectronicProducts”のみを用いて制作されたユンキーの電子音楽集なのである！
1987年に発売されたRolandのリズムマシン、TR-707が鳴らす太いビートにアシッドなシンセベースが加わり、ユーモラスなメロディを奏でてゆく。音の抜き差しによって曲の表情が変わっていく様に、ユンキーの持っている“DUB感”を感じ取ることもできるだろう。
“ElectronicProducts”のみで全て制作された本作だが、不思議なほどに無機質な印象が感じられず、終始人懐こいメロディやユーモラスなビートが次々と飛び出してくる。
このアルバムには曲のタイトルが付けられておらず、またアートワークも非常にシンプルで、匿名性の高いアルバムとなっている。
ユンキーのことを知っている人も知らなかった人も、先入観なしでこのアルバムを再生すれば、めくるめくアイディアとユーモアに満ちたユンキー・サウンドを楽しめること請け合いだ。

And two years since the release of his 2017 album “Entertainment Rambo,” which soothed listeners with its carefree quality…
A new album has been released from Seoul, South Korea-based artist Yoonkee Kim, aka Yoonkee!
In stark contrast to the guitar-driven rock sound of his previous album, this album is a collection of Yoonkee’s electronic music, created entirely using “electronic products”—rhythm machines, analog synthesizers, radios, Casiotones, DAW VST synths, and even digital camera startup sounds!
The thick beats of the TR-707, a Roland rhythm machine released in 1987, are complemented by acid synth bass, creating humorous melodies. You can also sense Yoonkee’s “dub feel” as the character of the songs changes as sounds are added and removed.
Though this album was produced entirely by “Electronic Products,” it strangely does not come across as inorganic, with endearing melodies and humorous beats popping out one after another throughout.
The album has no song titles and the artwork is very simple, lending it a strong sense of anonymity.
Whether you’re familiar with Yoonkee or not, if you play this album without any preconceptions, you’re sure to enjoy Yoonkee’s sound, which is full of dizzying ideas and humor.
